Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) set out the conditions for using Grid Motion Generator (the “Service”), an automated motion-graphics generation tool. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Application

1. These Terms apply to all matters related to use of the Service between each user and the provider of the Service (“we,” “us” or “our”).
2. By accessing and starting to use the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to all provisions of these Terms.

2. Service Description

1. The Service uses HTML5 Canvas and adjustable parameters to generate and play grid-based motion graphics in a web browser and capture or export them as WebM or MP4 video.
2. The Service also provides JSON settings export and import, restorable settings URLs, an option to open an X post, and device sharing for still images and ten-second videos.

3. Generated Content and Permitted Use

1. You may freely use videos (MP4 or WebM), still graphics and other content created or exported with the Service (“Generated Content”) for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
2. You may modify, monetize and use Generated Content in YouTube or social-media posts, music videos, audiovisual works, commercial design, advertising, websites, events and other projects. This includes advertising revenue and the sale of materials containing Generated Content.
3. Prior notice to us and attribution to the Service are optional and are not required.

4. Data Processing and Privacy

1. Service operations and animation calculations are generally performed locally on your device in your browser.
2. When converting a recording to MP4, the recording is temporarily sent to Firebase Cloud Functions and used for encoding. Processing files are deleted after conversion and delivery and are not retained as a permanent Generated Content store.
3. JSON settings export and import take place on your device. A settings URL contains parameter values; anyone who receives that URL can view and restore those settings. Sound on/off and SFX volume are excluded from settings URLs.
4. Share on X, image sharing and ten-second video sharing open X or your device or browser share feature only when you initiate them. Information handled by the destination is subject to that third party’s terms and privacy policy.
5. We do not provide, reuse or collect your Generated Content or parameter settings for unrelated purposes without your permission.
6. The Service may use Google Analytics to understand usage and Google AdSense to deliver advertising. These services may collect information using cookies or similar technologies. For information about collected data, purposes and opt-out choices, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• violate any law, regulation or public order, or engage in conduct related to criminal activity;
• damage, overload or interfere with the Service’s servers, networks or operation;
• gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access; or
• engage in any other conduct that we determine to be inappropriate.

6. Use of AI Technology

1. The Service was developed with assistance and collaboration involving artificial-intelligence technology, including program generation and verification.
2. Because of the nature of AI technology, we do not guarantee the absolute completeness of generated code or stable operation in every environment. By using the Service, you acknowledge its experimental and evolving nature.

7. Disclaimer

1. We make no express or implied warranty that the Service is free of factual or legal defects, including defects relating to safety, reliability, accuracy, completeness, errors or bugs.
2. The Service is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from device issues, browser incompatibility, encoding errors, data loss or similar events associated with use of the Service.
3. Image or video sharing, transfer of settings URLs, and playback or saving of MP4 or WebM files may be unavailable because of device, browser or destination-service limitations.

8. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service, or revise these Terms, whenever we consider it necessary, without prior notice. Continued use of the Service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
